"When our son was enrolled in the school, Walker embraced our whole family. They welcomed us into a wonderful and supportive community and gave our family the hope we had lost - with four little words: We're here to help."

The Annual Fund
The $1.5 million Walker annual fund is the foundation of our institutional advancement efforts, helping to provide many of the things we need to deliver the highest-quality special education and therapeutic programs at the Walker School and Beacon High School: computers, athletic equipment, resource libraries, campus maintenance, and much, much more. Unrestricted gifts to the annual fund account for approximately 8% of Walker’s total budget and also help to underwrite the programs of Walker Partnerships in public schools across eastern Massachusetts.

Capital Gifts
The Campaign For Beacon High School and the Walker Watertown Campus is underway and seeks to improve the Beacon High School facility and expand the Watertown campus as a platform for special education services for adolescents. Capital gifts also support classroom and residential living space renovations at the Walker School, technology upgrades, additional administrative offices, parking, play space, and landscaping.

The Walker Fund For Children
The establishment of the first permanent endowment fund for Walker provides interest income from the endowment to support professional development, research and publications, and deferred maintenance for Walker facilities.

The George and Irene Walker Society
